Systemic Counselling and Yoga Practice

A Warm Welcome!

I’m Karoline Leithold —

M.A. Social Work, SG-certified Systemic Therapist, trained in Trauma Integration and Yoga Teacher.

Through shifts in perspective, solution-focused approaches, and mindfulness-based bodywork, I support you in finding greater clarity and joy in life.

I offer a safe space for growth and exploration to those who wish to discover and understand the deeper layers of their being.

What I offer

Systemic counselling creates a space in which individuals, couples, families, and teams can rediscover their own solutions.

My approach is resource-oriented, respectful, and guided by curiosity and a multi-partial stance — attentive to what becomes possible when new perspectives emerge. There is space for humour, burdens can become lighter, and clarity can grow.

Individual Counselling

This is a space for you, your concerns, and the path that is right for you. Together, we bring order to your thoughts, gently untangle what feels knotted, and create space for the changes you wish to make. You are welcome to bring hope — and doubt, too: there is space for both.

Couples Counselling

When two people feel stuck in their relationship, a neutral space can make all the difference. Together, we bring movement into conversations that have reached an impasse, deepen mutual understanding, and create new possibilities for connection.

Family Counselling and Supervision

Families and Teams are like small ecosystems: sensitive, alive, and sometimes chaotic. Together, we explore the dynamics at play and find ways to create more breathing space and mutual understanding for everyone involved. Every voice matters — including the quiet ones.

I offer individual counselling sessions lasting 50 to 60 minutes, couples counselling sessions lasting either 60 or 90 minutes, and supervision sessions lasting either 90 or 120 minutes. Sessions are available in person or online by arrangement and can be held in English or German. If you would like to request an appointment or arrange a brief, no-obligation initial consultation, please feel free to contact me. I will get back to you within two to three working days.

Yoga Sessions

Individuals, Groups & Teams

My approach to yoga is grounded and precise, guided by clarity, body awareness, and ease. Each session is mindfully structured and professionally guided, while remaining relaxed enough to keep both body and mind flexible.

  • Individual, group, and team sessions
  • A focus on breathing, presence, and lasting relaxation

Workshops

Open Workshops, Teaching & Retreats

My workshops combine knowledge, experience, and a touch of down-to-earth humour. Whether exploring systemic approaches, practising in silence, or deepening yoga practice, the focus is on supporting people in their personal and professional development.

  • Teaching and lecturing on systemic approaches
  • Silent retreats and mindfulness-based programmes
  • Yoga workshops for beginners and experienced practitioners

Approach & Guiding Principles

My work is grounded in an appreciative, resource-oriented, and solution-focused approach. I work with curiosity, neutrality, and equal consideration for all perspectives — with clarity, yet without detachment. I believe that every person is the expert on their own life; my role is to support you in making your inner map easier to read again.

  • Appreciation and respect
  • A focus on resources and solutions
  • Equal consideration of all perspectives and neutrality
  • Humour as a door opener
  • Systemic perspectives

About me

My professional journey began in occupational therapy. From an early stage in my career, I had the opportunity to support people living with special needs, mental health challenges, and complex life circumstances. During this time, I became a founding member of the Systemisches Institut Mittelsachsen — an institute that continues to support processes of growth and change to this day.

Studying Social Work deepened and broadened my perspective. This was followed by several years working in child and youth welfare, community-based mental health care, and a variety of counselling settings. These experiences taught me just how multifaceted people’s lives can be — and how important it is to observe carefully rather than draw conclusions too quickly.

A second, equally important path led me towards the body. I completed my yoga teacher training in South India, and yoga and Vipassana have remained an integral part of my life ever since. They have brought greater stillness, clarity, and depth to my work.

Through further training in Trauma Integration and a Master’s degree in Social Work, specialising in leadership, planning, and research, my perspective expanded to include broader contexts. Organisations, systems, and the question of how supportive and sustainable spaces can be created increasingly became central to my work.

My systemic training brought these different paths together. Today, I combine systemic perspectives with body-oriented therapeutic approaches and a trauma-sensitive practice. I am currently training to become a teaching therapist.

I support individuals, couples, families, and teams through processes of change — with clarity, calmness, and genuine care. Structure offers stability, while gentle humour is welcome. At the heart of my work lies the trust that every person already carries resources within them that can unfold.

Every living system holds potential that is often simply waiting to be seen. I see my role as creating and holding spaces in which that can happen.

An initial conversation offers space to organise your thoughts, discover new perspectives, and consider together what your next meaningful step might be.
